Upside Down

Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? – Mark 8:34-36 (NLT)

“Lose Your Life to Save It!”

You can trade your guilty life for a forgiven one!

You can trade a temporary life for an eternal one!

You can trade a self-seeking life for a significant one!

You can trade a solitary life for a friend and a family!

You have to walk away from the life you .

For though once your heart was full of darkness, now it is full of light from the Lord, and your behavior should show it!  Because of this light within you, you should do only what is good and right and true. – Ephesians 5:8-9 (TLB)

God wants you to be more than FORGIVEN. He wants you to be CHANGED!

You have to live for instead of !

Yet at the same time many even among the leaders believed in him. But because of the Pharisees they would not openly acknowledge their faith for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved human praise more than praise from God. – John 12:42-43 (NIV)

You can’t become fully who God wants you to be when you’re trying to please everyone around you!

You have to give up your right to your own life!

He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” – Matthew 26:39 (NLT)

You not only have to die to yourself, you have to !

Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross DAILY, and follow me. – Luke 9:23 (NLT)
