DON & CAROLINE ARMSTRONG

ASIA

Don and Caroline serve as regional coordinators in Asia, working with missionaries and national leaders and assisting with ministry vision and strategy for specific countries and the   region. They reside in Thailand.

BETHANY KIDS

AFRICA

Bethany Kids is a compassionate Christian mission supporting the work of missionary surgeons in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Madagascar by paying for children to get surgery they couldn’t otherwise afford.

TAPAN & SHIKHA BORMAN

CHURCH OF GOD, BANGLADESH

Tapan is the National Director of the Church of God Ministries in Lalmonirhat Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Foundation in Dhaka.  He and his wife, Shikha are very involved in ministry and helping women and children who have been trapped by sex trafficking.  Pastor Borman leads church growth seminars, Pastoral training, and church planting.

CHRIS & REBEKAH BRANSFORD

CHAD, AFRICA

Chris and Rebekah are presently serving in the country of Chad (Central Africa) learning the language, teaching English classes and working with local Chadian Christians. Their hope is to see Muslim people find abundant life in Christ and help to train new cross-cultural “workers”.  Please pray for them as they continue their calling from God, and for Levi, Nate, & Caleb who are in the States, and Joshua at Rift Valley Academy.

CHILDREN OF PROMISE

Children of Promise is a child sponsorship program that provides financial assistance to aid children of poverty in ministries operated by the Church of God outside of the United States.  The goal of Children of Promise is to help children to know Jesus and give hope to fulfill their dreams. We sponsor Isaac Malizani and Joseline Batamuriza.  Isaac enjoys attending Sunday School & Church. He loves to play soccer. Joseline enjoys singing at church. She loves jumping rope and playing netball.

Named after our own Deanna Kriesel, Mary Mulindi started this school in 2004.  She is committed to meet exceptional standards of education founded on Christian principals.  Our 2022 work camp team was able to visit Deanna’s Kids  during their stay in Kenya.

NATE & SARAH EDWARDS

RIFT VALLEY ACADEMy, KENYA

Nate and Sarah met in 2014 while serving on staff at Rift Valley Academy. Nate is a Mental Health Therapist and Sarah is a Nurse Practitioner and they both are Third Culture Kids who grew up in Kenya and Japan (respectively).  Nate and Sarah are passionate about serving other TCK's as they understand the unique and demanding challenges faced by kids growing up overseas. They are now on staff at  RVA as a married couple!

EGYPT CHURCH OF GOD

Over 60 people attend the English-speaking Church of God in Cairo.   The church is very involved in evangelism and helping poor families, financially and spiritually.

SPAIN

Our ministry focus is three-fold: Awaken, Bless, Cultivate - Our ABCs. We are called to Awaken persons to God, to themselves and to His calling in their lives. We are called to Bless our city and its inhabitants where they can interact with the activity of God working for their holistic welfare, healing, and redemption. We are called to Cultivate a deeper understanding and engagement with the developmental and spiritual work of God in people’s lives.

HEART FOR LEBANON

Heart for Lebanon currently serves a total of 3,600 refugee and at-risk families throughout Lebanon on a monthly basis through their Access ministries.  Over 1,500 adults are involved in Bible Study & Worship gatherings.   950 students are in a Christian Educational Program.  Three Worship Services have been launched with over 750 people in weekly attendance.  Over 100 adults are experiencing Missional Leadership Training and 1,200 children are engaged in Hope on Wheels, sports and clubs.

HELPING HANDS IN MOTION

HHIM is a support ministry to missionaries and national pastors in various countries.  Presently, HHIM is aiding and assisting Pastors, Missionaries, and/or National Leaders in India, Sri Lanka, and Haiti with resources they need for effective ministry. Lives are being transformed and souls are coming to know Jesus!

DEBORAH HUNNICUTT

RAOTAN, HONDURAS

Deborah answered God’s call to the mission field in Roatán and opened the Samuel Raymond Christian School (SRCS) in 2011 with just 10 students.  There are now over 60 students enrolled in Kindergarten through 9th grade in the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program at SRCS.  In 2015 Deborah started Roatán Horizons Inc, a non-profit corporation that helps provide free education for the students of SRCS.   If you would like to help sponsor a student at SRCS, please visit the Roatán Horizons website at www.roatanhorizons.com.

JOHN & GWEN JOHNSON

AFRICA

As regional coordinators for Africa, John and Gwen travel throughout the region, working in collaboration with national leaders to develop regional strategies and country-specific strategies. They cultivate relationships within the Church of God across Africa, helping connect the church across the region. They also oversee projects and Global Strategy missionaries in the region, providing pastoral care and supervision.

PAUL & KATTIA JONES

BOLIVIA

Paul, Kattia, and Tabitha are excited to be back in Bolivia after COVID because they are once again involved in the many wonderful things God is doing through the church. They are there in partnership with the church to aid in any area of need they may have. The main way they assist is by training leaders for ministry.

KIMA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY

KENYA, AFRICA

Kima  International  School  of Theology (KIST) is located in Western Kenya where national pastors are trained to go and build churches in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. The Church of God is heavily involved with KIST.  Our Missions team traveled to KIST in June of 2022 to work on campus, painting classrooms and offices in the administration building.  They also briefly assisted in patching up holes in the water tanks on campus.

MBUGWE FOR THE ELDERLY

Tanzania, Africa

Shartel has some very faithful ladies who give every month to help the elderly in Tanzania.  This financial aid is used directly for food and living expenses for the elderly who have no other means of support.

ED & IVY SO

PHILIPPINES

Through Arise Worldwide Inc., Ed & Ivy bring the word of God and Hope to the remote areas of the Philippines through outreach to impoverished families and children. They help with church plants, education and serve the communities, sharing the light and love of Jesus so they too can experience His fullness and grace.

REGIONAL COORDINATORS FOR EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST

The Tatmans travel extensively, working in collaboration with national leaders, cultivating relationships within the Church of God across Europe and the Middle East, connecting the church across the region. Nate and Stacy have a particular passion for church planting and church health. They also oversee projects and missionaries in the region, providing pastoral care and supervision.

JASON & ABBY TORGESON

COSTA RICA

Jason and  Abby, with their children Josiah, Silas and Rebecca serve  as regional consultants for Latin America, Jason and Abby are responsible for directing the work of Global Strategy missionaries and projects in Latin America and for working in partnership with the leadership of CIID (Confraternidad Interamericana de la  Iglesia de Dios), the body of leaders from across the Church of God.

VENEZUELA COMEDOR

The Venezuela Comedor is an extension of our Shartel en Español ministry here at Shartel.  This money helps a Venezuelan church provide food and hot meals for children and their families on a daily basis.   We are truly blessed to be a part of this ministry and include it as part of our missions outreach.

RICK & PEGGY WINSFORD

GERMANY

Rick & Peggy are serving in Germany with eDOT (Electronic Discipleship, Outreach and Training). They serve and minister to the people living around them as well as newly arriving refugees, sharing the hope of the gospel to these people in need, including teaching English, developing technology skills and helping rescue women and children from human trafficking.

U.S. Missions

JONATHAN & KENDRA DAILY

WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS

Jonathan and Kendra Dailey minister with Wycliffe as linguists, translation is currently part of the faculty in a training program for Wycliffe field personnel. He provides training and support for linguistic and translation software that is used in  projects worldwide.

CHURCH PLANTING

There are many new Churches who need help financially to grow their ministry.  Shartel was able to help a new church plant in the Denver, Colorado area this past year and we will continue helping other new church plants as needed.

HUNGER EDUCATION AND RESOURCE TRAINING

The HEART Institute is a missionary training center in Lake Wales, Florida designed to prepare people to serve effectively in the Third World. HEART operates a village community that simulates many aspects of Third World living. In addition to practical and technical skills, they acquire problem solving and coping skills that will enable them to adapt more readily to the challenges they will face overseas.    

JONATHAN & LINA PEASLEE

ATHLETES IN ACTION

Jonathan has been working as an LDHR Staff Care Specialist and Team Chaplain for Wilberforce U. Men’s Basketball at Athletes in Action for 11 years.  He leads basketball mission trips and helps with AIA’s international basketball Coaches Academy and various ministry events around the world.  Sadly, Jonathan’s and Lina’s daughter Sara passed away last December from a serious brain stem tumor.  Please  continue to pray for Jonathan & Lina.

SHARED GIVING (formerly WORLD SERVICE)

A portion of the Shartel Missions budget is set aside for world service projects, through the Church of God, Anderson, IN.

SOUTH CENTRAL HISPANIC CONCILIO

The Hispanic Council reaches the lost for Jesus Christ to equip Hispanic Christians, church planting, cultivate partnership, encourage diversity, and engage in missions. The Concilio builds relationships within Hispanic congregations and pastors, and maintains a partnership with Church of God Ministries and other Church of God Organizations.

Tim and Kim Wardell serve the Lakota people through one-on-one discipleship, Alcoholics Anonymous, grief recovery, self-help work projects, youth outreach, and a faithful proclamation and demonstration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

BOBBY & REGINA WASHINGTON

GODSIDE, DENVER, COLORADO

Bobby & Regina created GodSide Ministries in 1996 to reach the at-risk youth and their families in Denver, Colorado.  Their goal has been to reach lives that are the most at risk for being unwanted and unsure of their purpose. Motivation, support and life skills are developed through working with GodSide.

LOCAL MISSIONS

JESUS HOUSE

Jesus House is a recovery  program center located in downtown OKC for men and women experiencing  homelessness, addiction and mental health issues.

MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY

Our monthly support to MACU “Vision to Grow” helps provide funds for ministerial students and student matching scholarships which are offered to students attending from affiliated churches of God. Scholarships are available for all graduating seniors from Shartel.  Applications are available in the church office. 

MOORE FAITH MEDICAL CLINIC

MOORE, OKLAHOMA

The Moore faith Medical Clinic’s mission is to share the love of Christ in a holistic and tangible way through faith-based medical care.  Doctors and nurses donate their time to see patients in need.   Over the last 7 years, the clinic has seen thousands of patients, provided  free prescription medications, and  provided more than $10.7 million worth of care for those in our community.   Moore Faith is supported by the generosity of individuals, churches, and small businesses in our community.

HOPE PREGNANCY CENTER

The mission of Hope Pregnancy Ministries is to help young men and women have hope and choose life in the midst of an unplanned pregnancy.  This year, we have added the North Oklahoma City location to our missions ministry.

WHIZ KIDS

Whiz Kids is a faith-based, one-on-one volunteer tutoring/mentoring program that focuses on first through sixth grade studentsCwho  live  in areas  which  have  some  of  the highest  drop-out rates  and lowest socio-economic levels in Oklahoma  City.  Shartel Church hosts Whiz Kids on Thursday afternoons following school.  Please contact John and Charolett Coley through the church office if you are interested in joining them as volunteers or would like more information about the program.

SHAREL EN ESPAñOL LEADERSHIP TRAINING

This funding provides Pastor Salvador the opportunity to have guest speakers for training seminars for our Hispanic congregation at Shartel, enabling them to learn leadership, service, and many other aspects of ministry to continue spreading the Gospel in OKC’s Hispanic communities.

CITY RESCUE MISSION

City Rescue Mission is a faith-based, private nonprofit organization providing solution-based ministry to homeless men, women, and children in the OKC Metro.
