“It’s All About Jesus!”
Mark 2:1-12 (The Healing of the Paralytic)
And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming, “We’ve never seen anything like this before!” – Mark 2:12 (NLT)
“Like We’ve Never Seen Before”
“We’ve never seen anything like this before!” Wow! That’s what I want from God today, don’t you? I want God to show up in our worship service today with a power and presence like we’ve never seen. I want to see people so touched by the Spirit of God as they sing and praise that they worship Him with an unashamed abandon. Hands raised high. Tears flowing down their cheeks. People falling to their knees. I want to feel the glory of God so thick that it is overwhelming. I want to see worship like we’ve never seen it before.
“We’ve never seen anything like this before!” I want to see that displayed in the way that God touches people at their point of need today. I want to see marriages that are dead be resurrected by the life-changing power of His Name. I want to see people who have been bound by addictions see those chains fall off as they cry out to Him. I want to see people who are suffering from cancer, heart disease, and afflictions of all kinds miraculously and unexplainably healed. I want to see people whose hearts are darkened and calloused toward God be irresistibly drawn to Him and wonderfully saved by His Amazing Grace. I want to see people touched like we’ve never seen it before.
“We’ve never seen anything like this before!” I want to see God work among us, between us, and within us like we’ve never seen. I want to see reconciliation between those who have been at odds with each other. I want to see forgiveness flow, walls torn down, and resentment released. I want to see family members who are estranged from each other restored. I want to see lost children running home, separated siblings joined back together, and the scar tissue between husbands and wives healed. May the God who made us for relationships heal those relationships like we’ve never seen before.
“Lord, I don’t know a single person or a single church that isn’t in need of a touch from your hand. You always bless us with your presence as we gather, and for that we are eternally grateful. But today, we ask you for something more. Today we ask for a special visitation, a special anointing, and a special display of your power. Today Father, we ask for more than a few songs and a message. Today, we ask for a miracle. Show up today like we’ve never seen before. In your Holy Name, we pray, amen.” That’s God’s Word for you today.
