Our Father is the God of the impossible. Do you believe that? There are many things in life that can be written off as good luck or just a coincidence. But every once in a while, God shows up in a way that leaves you shaking your head and simply marveling at who He is.
Mary was in one of those moments. The angel of the Lord was giving her news that left her just shaking her head. It’s one thing to be called “favored” or “chosen” by God. Those kinds of moments are overwhelming enough. But then the angel gave Mary the REALLY big news. “You’re going to have a baby!” That left Mary stunned. Her response was exactly as ours would be. “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.” All Mary could see was the impossibility of what the angel was saying. There is no way on earth that this could happen. Exactly. That’s why heaven had to get involved! God specializes in the impossible.
Maybe YOU are having one of those moments today. You’re facing a circumstance that is overwhelming. You’re feeling the nudge from God to do something that you know there is NO WAY you can do. And maybe you’re arguing with God the same way Mary argued with the angel. Because you know there’s no way on earth that this can happen. And you’re right. But that’s why heaven is going to get involved. What’s impossible with man, is possible with God. Lay your need, your struggle, your journey, and your “impossible” situation before God today. If God can cause a virgin to have a baby, He can take care of whatever it is that you need as well. When there’s no way on earth, there IS a way in heaven! That’s God’s Word for you today.
