Walking Through the Psalms
“He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.” – Psalm 107:20 (NLT)
“Sending God’s Healing Word Your Way!”

“Sending God’s Healing Word Your Way!”
One of my first hospital visits I ever made as a young pastor was with an elderly man dealing with some respiratory issues. When I asked him how he was doing, he said he was doing pretty good for a man who had only been given six months to live. My jaw dropped. Then he laughed and said, “But that was 19 years ago.” The doctors didn’t misdiagnose his problems. They just underestimated what God could do!
I had a friend I messaged with on Facebook who had gone through a painful experience with their son. They had disagreed over some decisions he was making, and the son walked away, severing all ties. After years of being apart and with grandkids they’d never held, my friend and their son had reconciled over the phone. Now they were happily on their way out of state for a reunion at their son’s home. Is there any greater joy than restorations like that?
I spoke some time ago with another person who had grown up in a home of horrible abuse. They had been treated in ways that would be unacceptable for an animal, much less a human being. They were made to believe that they were useless, hopeless, and valueless. But God has amazingly worked in their life, and though they still have flashes of self-doubt and need reminding of how precious they are from time to time, they have overcome. They no longer see themselves through the eyes of their abusers. They now know and claim that they are precious creations of God.
Healing. What a beautiful word. What a marvelous experience. What an incredible gift from God. Wherever Jesus went, He healed people. Sometimes He stretched out His Hand and touched them. Other times, He simply spoke the word. Could YOU use that word today? Our verse today reminds us that our God is Jehovah Raphe…the God who heals us. He is more than able to heal your body, regardless of your disease or diagnosis. He is more than able to bring healing and wholeness to your broken and damaged relationships. He is still more than able to heal your broken heart, your damaged emotions, or your distorted self-perception. It was God who made you…body, mind, and spirit. He is The One who can make you whole. My prayer is that God would send His Healing Word your way. May your need for healing today be your testimony of God’s miracle tomorrow! That’s God’s Word for you today.
