Walking Through the Psalms
“The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” – Psalm 118:14 (NLT)
“God Has Given YOU The Victory!”
“The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” – Psalm 118:14 (NLT)
“God Has Given YOU The Victory!”
This is a great verse for you to read out loud before you leave the house today. It’s actually a great verse for some of us to write down and put up on our bathroom mirrors or refrigerators, where we’ll see it all week long. It’s a verse of triumph. It’s a verse of optimism. It’s a verse that declares something about WHO we are and WHOSE we are. We are people of Promise. We are people of a profound Presence. We are a people whose God walks among them and lives in them. There is absolutely no enemy that we cannot defeat and no obstacle that we cannot overcome. There is no giant that we cannot face and battle we cannot win. Need some examples? Think David and Goliath. Think Moses and the King of Egypt. Think Daniel and a den of lions. Think Joseph and his jealous brothers. Think Jesus and a crowd and a cross and a tomb. All seemed overwhelmed by what stood before them. Yet ALL found victory!
I don’t have any idea what you’re facing. I don’t know what situation you may be looking at that is filling your heart with terror. I don’t know who all or what all may be against you. But THIS I do know: “The Lord is YOUR strength and YOUR song; He has given YOU the victory!” The same God that was with David, with Moses, with Daniel, with Joseph, and with Jesus is with YOU. The road for all of these was a difficult road, just like yours. They all had doubts at times, just like you. They had to deal with discouragement and fear, and even the lack of support from some of their closest friends and family. But they listened to the God who was with them, rather than those who were around them. They stayed the course, fought the fight, and God saw them through.
So, what are you afraid of today? What’s stealing your joy and filling your heart with dread or worry or fear? Look it in the eye and make your declaration today. “The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.” Say it again. Say it LOUDER! Say it until it’s no longer words coming from your mouth, but TRUTH that is erupting from your heart. You are not alone today. The Lord goes before you and comes behind you. You’re more than a conqueror. All you have to do is go out and fight the battle. The victory has already been won. That’s God’s Word for you today.
